About the course
This course is an e-learning awareness briefing presenting the main changes to ADR which are applicable from the 1st of January 2025.
The course discusses what ADR is, why there are changes to ADR, and outlines the main changes to ADR from 2025 in a series of videos that we have filmed especially for this course.
Full analysis and links to all of the changes are provided in each lesson.
Batteries
ADR 2025 includes new provisions for sodium ion batteries, battery powered vehicles, and changes for lithium batteries.
Waste
There are major changes in ADR 2025 for those packing and carrying waste. Including for asbestos, plus changes to the way waste is packed and documented.

- Battery powered vehicles carried with batteries installed (2:26)
- Multimodal changes to be aware of (air transportation state of charge)
- Asbestos in bulk (8:38)
- Compatibility of plastic packaging for liquid waste (new 2.5 year expiry) (12:51)
- Consigning waste classified in accordance with ADR 2.1.3.5.5
- Waste in inner packagings packed together in an outer packaging (e.g. lab smalls) (5:34)
- Waste paint and residues in accordance with SP 650
